Community Redevelopment Plans
Shaping the Future of Our Neighborhoods
As directed by Florida Statutes, the City has developed a Community Redevelopment Plan for each of our three Tax Increment Financing (TIF) districts: Urban Core, Westside, and Eastside. These plans guide how public funds are used to support policies, programs, and projects that reflect the unique needs and goals of each area.
All funding from the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) must align with these plans to ensure a focused and effective approach to revitalization.
Built by the Community, for the Community
The redevelopment plans are shaped by input from residents, business owners, and local stakeholders. Their voices helped create a shared vision for what each district can become. These plans are more than just documents—they're roadmaps for action, built on community priorities and extensive data analysis.
What the Plans Focus On
Each redevelopment plan tackles key issues and opportunities specific to its district, including:
- Expanding housing choices, especially affordable and workforce housing
- Preserving the history, culture, and character of neighborhoods
- Preventing displacement and managing the effects of gentrification
- Strengthening the social and economic fabric of communities
- Celebrating and enhancing neighborhood identity
- Driving sustainable economic development
- Improving transportation options, including walking, biking, transit, and parking
- Connecting people to the waterfront and local community assets
A Vision for 2025 and Beyond
The updated 2025 redevelopment plans combine community insight with in-depth analysis of current and future conditions—like population trends, economic shifts, and urban design. Together, this helps chart a clear path forward for each district, rooted in the values and aspirations of those who live and work there.
