CRA Design Studio
CRA & Development Services are working with the community to enhance the urban form through urban design techniques and architectural practices. As we collaborate to bridge the existing built environment with new design and architectural possibilities, the City is offering a CRA Design Studio. The studio time will allow property owners, design professionals, and developers the opportunity to meet with the CRA Urban Design Planner in an informal setting as the design is being transformed from concept into plans. Our intent is to provide guidance before a project is plan-ready in an effort to provide more creative design solutions.
Every Monday at 10 a.m., a Design Studio is offered to discuss ideas, proposals, and plans for developments within the City’s CRA districts, more specifically within the CRA Urban Design Overlay District. To provide an interactive, engaging experience, the CRA Design Studio is held in-person in the Whibbs Conference Room. Colored pencils, drawing triangles, and trace paper are encouraged! Pre-registration with conceptual or preliminary site plan and elevation sketches is required to allow staff to prepare for the session.
Please note, due to the interactive nature of this session, in-person meetings are necessary. However, accommodations can be made for this session to be held virtually on a case-by-case basis, particularly for those projects with design professionals unable to attend in person.
